Mercy & Justice Meeting
Thursday, September 28 | 6 – 7:30pm | Room 106
The Congregation is invited to join the Mercy and Justice Team in room 106 as we discuss the book “Toxic Charity – How Churches and Charities Hurt Those They Help” by Robert D. Lupton. According to the Washington Post, “Toxic Charity draws on Lupton’s 40 years’ experience as an urban activist in Atlanta, and he argues that most charitable work is ineffective or actually harmful to those it is supposed to help.”
During the discussion, we will explore how we can better serve our neighbors so that we meet their needs without doing them harm.
There is a limited number of the books available to borrow in the Mercy and Justice office, room 109.
