Keri Johnson

Keri Johnson grew up in a very small town called Withee, WI with an incredibly loving family: her parents, an identical twin sister and two younger brothers (plus an incredible extended family). She met her husband, Craig, in 1992 and was blessed to marry him in 2001. They lived in Illinois for fifteen years before finally getting back to Wisconsin in 2014!  They have three children a boy and two girls: Cortland, Graci & Gretchen.

Together their family loves spending time outdoors: camping, biking, and playing sports of all kinds. They began traveling to National Parks in 2018 and have made it a goal to continue traveling with their kids to see the amazingly beautiful world that God has created!  Their favorite thing to do is compete in the “World’s Largest Trivia Contest” in Stevens Point, WI, which they have done every year since they’ve gotten married: 8 trivia questions per hour for 54 straight hours EVERY SINGLE SPRING!

Keri enjoys having genuine conversations as well as playing cards, reading, listening to inspirational podcasts & sermons, baking, and watching movies and reality television.  She is proud of her small-town heritage and has learned to appreciate the small things in life, like the smell of fresh cut grass, the sound of crickets chirping as she looks into the starry sky, and the warmth of a burning campfire (with a beer in hand).  She cheers loud (SERIOUSLY LOUD) and proud for her Green Bay Packers, and joyfully sings the wrong words to almost every song on the radio, especially 50’s and 60’s, Country, Contemporary Christian, and Polka music. She has trained for and completed in three Olympic distance triathlons and loves to encourage others to persevere and overcome hard things.

Thanks to her husband, she was able to be a stay-at-home mom for a decade. Prior to that, she was an educator of children, youth, and families at two other churches. Since her kids have gotten older, she has also enjoyed being a Family/Wedding Photographer and a substitute teacher/paraprofessional in the Milton School District. Keri has a K-12 Art Education Degree from UW- Eau Claire, WI, and was commissioned as a “Minister of Religion” at Concordia University- St. Paul, MN. She is excited to be at Cargill UMC and is looking forward to what the future holds.
