At the Corner of Church & State

Revisiting the First Amendment with Pastor Steve Scott

The FIRST in a series of community conversations hosted by Cargill United Methodist Church about matters of faith & daily life.

Monday June 19

7PM IN THE SANCTUARY

The 1st Amendment is often quoted but frequently misunderstood. How does it dictate the church’s role in addressing issues of the day? Is there such a thing as a wall separating church & state?

Rev. Steve Scott has pursued two careers affected by the First Amendment: the church and the press. Former newspaper reporter now pastor, he studied religion and news media at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.

The Cargill United Methodist Church welcomes people of any or no faith background to this event.
