Dear Wesley Chorale members and potential new members,
It has been a VERY LONG TIME since we’ve been in the same room together, talked with each other and sung together. To be exact, Sunday, March 15, 2020. Dick and I miss all of you and hope that you are all healthy. At this time, the Delta Variant numbers are high in Rock County, and we sincerely hope that rehearsing with a larger group will be possible. If RCHD reduces the size of congregating groups, we will do what is necessary and go to small groups. Obviously, we are bound by the Cargill UMC Covid-19 procedures and covenant, and we are hoping that we will have the ability to sing as a group, though how we rehearse will be different than the last time we met.
During rehearsals, we are planning on warm ups together for 10 minutes, then splitting up into sections in separate rehearsal areas for 20 minutes and then back together for 10 minutes.
In the first rehearsal on Sunday, September 12, 2021, we will meet at 8:00 AM. Let’s wear white top and black bottom. We will be singing, “Praise His Holy Name” by Keith Hampton. We all know it and it’s fun – two very important things! We are planning on having a bass player and drums for this.
Rehearsing on Sunday, September 19, 2021, rehearsal will be at 8:30 AM for 20 minutes. THIS IS A BELL CHOIR SUNDAY.
The next time that we will sing will be Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 8:00 AM. We will be singing, “The Healing Place” by Joseph Martin. This is new. This selection is based upon James 5:13-20. Here is a link to the piece:
Copies of this piece will be available on September 12th. We will send rehearsal tracks to you through email to practice during the week.
A full schedule extending to January 9, 2022 will come out soon. Until then be safe and healthy. We are praying for you, for our pastors, for our church family and for the greater United Methodist Church.
Peace and love to all,
Dick and Marie Severing
